As a busy mum of three, what does your morning routine look like?
We also have a dog so we have to factor him in. Our kids are (and always have been) early wakers so they’re usually up around 6-6.30 am, as are we. Breakfast, myself or my husband walk the dog, and everyone gets ready & dressed - my eldest daughter is very helpful and often dresses the youngest - then all out for nursery, school and station drops. Considering we’re all up early it’s still a last-minute rush to get out the door each day. I’d like to say some mornings are slower but our weekends are now packed with early morning sports clubs too.
What qualities do you look for in kids’ clothing to ensure both style and comfort?
Great quality fabric and fit, unique styles, pieces with a hint of playfulness but that are also practical. I love heritage styles but nothing too stiff or fussy. My children are all quite active so comfort and the freedom to move is key.
How does the right choice of underwear impact a child’s comfort and confidence?
I think we always have to start at the basics. For adults and children. If you think as an adult - if you don’t feel comfortable in your underwear - it’s ill fitting, scratchy etc - you don’t feel quite yourself or fully comfortable all day. It’s the same for children… soft materials like organic cotton and bamboo are gentle, perfect for sensitive skin and set them up for the day. It speaks volumes that these are the pieces my children reach for first.
"We love Just Peachy! My daughters both wear the vests - my youngest calls them ‘my soft vests’ and my eldest is obsessed with the soft, silky feel. They wear them under clothing during the day and for bedtime. My eldest loves that she doesn’t ever get too hot when wearing them. My son wears the pants and they’re always in the wash as he pops them back on as soon as they’re clean. I plan to buy the Womens Underwear for myself! You could call us a family of Just Peachy fans!”

Do any of your kids have strong opinions on what they wear, and how do you handle it as a stylist?
Yes! My eldest has always been quite easy though she’s now being influenced a little by older girls - loves Nike Pro leggings for example. But she loves fashion and clothes and enjoys trying different styles - she’s happy not to look the same as everyone else - mostly.
My son is kind of naturally quite cool. But again has just started being influenced by peers. It’s so hard to avoid the labels and mainstream looks - and at these ages they don’t always have the confidence to stand out. Constantly working on this. Until last year he’d wear full leopard print looks but he’s veering more towards navy and black now…
My 3-year-old daughter is the most opinionated! And the opinions regularly change which is tricky! I have been known to bribe her into certain looks. I have the prettiest Doen patchwork dress I purchased preloved (after searching for months), it’s super comfortable but she just will not wear it. Hoping this changes come summer… She’d happily wear a Just Peachy vest and briefs alone all day.
I do sometimes have to just think actually let them wear what they want! Cece will go out in an Elsa dress occasionally… you have to just let them be little! As long as they’re happy. And look age appropriate!
How do you balance style and sustainability for kids, especially knowing they grow so fast?
I shop a lot preloved and sell a lot preloved too. I pass outgrown clothes on and give to charity shops. I try as much as possible to shop from and support sustainable baby & kids wear brands when buying new. We’re fortunate in that it’s easier than ever to do now with all of the great apps and preloved accounts… It's also a cost-effective way of shopping more premium brands!
What trends in kids’ fashion should parents be aware of for the upcoming season?
I kind of disagree with trends for kids. I think it’s cool when they just start to find their own personal style a little. But I think we’ll see an even bigger increase in sustainable kids fashion brands and more mainstream brands aiming to be more eco-friendly, customers are starting to see through any green washing. Which is great!
Actual kidswear trends tend to be a continuation of any main womenswear trends - I did love all the little Western influences for autumn/winter…I think we’ll see more cool sportswear, block colours, and easy athleisure. It’s one that works so well for children. Plaids and checks, bows and feature collars are here to stay. And there’s a lot of talk around the sage and pistachio colour palette and pastels, all of which I adore!
